Shannon Hoy BSc

Making one half of The Therapy Hub is Will, Sports Therapist & Rehabiliator. Studying at the University of Plymouth, Will succsesfully completed his Bachelor of Science Degree which gave him the necessary skillset to start helping clients. During university, will engaged in various internships which included working with athletes at Plymouth Albion and Exeter Chiefs. Alongside University, Will started renting a room from a local fitness studio, where he started his first practise under the name of WMJN Sports Therapy, this not only helped gain vital clinical hours for the degree, but also allowed Will to start doing what he loved from the very start, helping clients. Will first become interested in all things therapy from a young age, where he suffered different lower limb injuries playing football. After seeing a variety of different proffesionals, Will stumbled across a Sports Therapist who listened, educated and help fix the current injuries at the time. From here, Will thought this job could be unbelievably rewarding and could provide a bridge between the current NHS and private health care options. Although The Therapy Hub provides treatment for all musculoskeletal conditions, Will has a keen interest in the shoulder and has completed specific continued professional development courses in this area. Alongside this, Will is a strong believer in recent research, which is pointing towards exercise therapy as the main benefactor for pain, injury and rehabilitation and therefore is a key aspect of Will's treatment proccess.

Comprising the other half of The Therapy Hub is Shannon, who also successfully graduated from the University of Plymouth with a Bachelors Degree in Sports Therapy & Rehabiliation. Shannon first become interested in therapy from a younger age when she  sustained numerous ankle sprains from competing in dance. From here, she received a variety of treatments from different professionals and formed a keen interest in helping people return to their sport and hobbies. After completing her degree, Shannon aimed to further her skills and is currently undertaking a MSc in Physiotherapy in Plymouth, whilst continuing to see clients from the Therapy Hub clinic. Shannons 2 year pre-registration masters degree will further her knowledge and ability to treat a wider variety of conditions. From focusing on MSK issues, Shannon has an interest in cardiac, respiratory and neurological conditions, all of which is covered within her current studies. Shannons future aims is to bridge the gap further between private care and the NHS, by becoming one of the small portfolio of people who hold a Sports Physiotherapy Masters degree. This will allow Shannon to have the knowledge of an advanced physiotherapist and the hands on ability of a Sports Therapist. Although Shannon is very competent in the treatment of all areas of the body, she has a particularly found interest in the cervical spine (neck) and the management of pain and movement from this joint.

SIJ Pain

I have seen Will at The Therapy Hub on and off over the last year or so due to me being flakey as I've been busy with work  . I have had rehabilitation appointments combining massage and stretches at some appointments, and exercises to complete at home. I have hypermobile joints and Will tailored my treatment plan to try to resolve the pain in my hip/lower back which, for me, turned out to be a glute weakness.

Will is friendly, approachable, professional, and clearly knowledgable. Will is very good at educating on what to expect post-treatment, and how I need to approach the exercises to ensure I get on the road to recovery. Thank you very much Will, I always feel like I'm in safe hands.

Jaw Pain

I suffer quite badly with migraines, earache and a clicky jaw, and so when The Therapy Hub advertised a treatment targeted specifically at these problems I couldn't not try it...and I'm so glad I did! Two sessions in and I'm already starting to feel the difference, but it's not just those areas Shannon works on, she tackled the tension in my neck & shoulders (and believe me, there's a lot!)

Shannon is great; knowledgeable, very good at what she does, and honest; they have never sold me a treatment I didn't need or make me feel pressured into having more sessions than I could afford, and what they do truly works. I do not hesitate to recommend them
